I’m in love with this week’s verse and I am so drawn to the hope and promise it brings. It’s especially perfect at times like this when the seasons are changing and there is an air of change in our everyday lives.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.
Plans change, people change…it’s a fact. Our lives are filled with an unending amount of uncertainty and change. This verse is such an encouragement to any person who has ever experienced any form of change. There is absolutely nothing physical in this world that we can put our trust in to last forever. Our health won’t be perfect, our possessions will break and wear out, and relationships will end. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but this world and the things in it will not last. It’s the hard truth.
Luckily for us, it doesn’t end there. God has not only given us His Word, the Bible, but the Holy Spirit as well that will stay with us for all of eternity. He has promised us that His Word will never fail. It is unending, unchanging, and without error. That, my friend, is some straight up hope for us as Christians.
I hope this verse will be a reminder to you throughout the week that even though there are hundreds of things in our lives that will change, God’s Word is the one thing that never will. His Word is eternal.
