Verse Of The Week ~James 1:12~

Hello friends! I hope you are having an excellent day 🙂 I’m so excited for today’s verse of the week, so let’s just get right into it!

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

James 1:12

In John 16:33, the writer says, “In this world you will have trouble…”. So let’s face it, trials are a natural part of our lives. Trials are placed in our lives for a reason by a God who can see bigger than any human ever will. They aren’t put in our lives for the sole purpose of making us miserable (although it might seem like it at times). You see, God puts struggles in our day-to-day to bring us closer to him and to refine us. Just as precious metals must be continuously heated and the impurities skimmed away, so God must “heat” us and “scrape” our filth away to mold us into what He has planned for us to be.

That last part of the verse gives me goosebumps. “Having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him”….how powerful. To hear the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” one day makes all of the trials we face on the earth seem smaller than small.

Choose today to let the little trials go and to turn the big trials over to God. Choose to persevere. Choose to stand the test and watch God do the impossible.
